    Job Title: Shop Service Mechanic

     

    Experience Level: Intermediate

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a skilled and motivated Shop Service Mechanic to join our team in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of heavy equipment. Your expertise in hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical components will be essential in ensuring equipment is serviced efficiently and safely.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues based on customer input and technical assessments.

    + Perform repairs using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical manuals.

    + Order and install necessary parts to complete repairs.

    + Conduct thorough inspections to ensure all systems are functioning properly.

    + Verify tolerances, torque specifications, and check for leaks or loose fittings.

    + Test system pressures and document results accurately.

    + Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job progress or issues.

    + Recommend improvements to procedures or job functions.

    + Operate equipment such as saws, plasma cutters, and torches as needed.

    + Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    + Strong mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of hydraulics and 12V electrical systems.

    + Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.

    + Experience with wiring stop/start systems and using programming tools.

    + Familiarity with hydraulic hose and fitting sizes.

    + Skilled in using cutting tools (saws, plasma cutters, torches).

    + Ability to adjust system pressures and relief valves.

    + Basic math skills and attention to detail.

    + Ability to work independently and follow through on projects.

    + Practical experience in mechanical design or layout is a plus.

    + Prior experience in the heavy equipment industry is strongly preferred.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

    Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
