Job Title: Weekend Mechanical Assembler
**_WEEKEND SHIFT_** : FRI,SAT,SUN - 6:00AM-6:30PM
Job Description
Join our team as a Mechanical Assembler on the weekend shift, where you will play a vital role in the manufacturing of driveshafts. This position requires the operation of mechanical equipment, usage of hand tools, and ensuring the quality and productivity of the assembled products.
Responsibilities
+ Operate mechanical equipment such as cut-off saws, welders, hydraulic presses, and balancers.
+ Use hand tools to assemble driveshafts, ensuring all components are correctly fitted and secured.
+ Utilize measuring devices, including tape measures and calipers, to ensure precision in assembly.
+ Follow verbal and written instructions to interpret work orders and dimensional information.
+ Perform testing and troubleshooting to ensure the driveshafts meet quality standards.
+ Utilize production systems via computers, tablets, and scanners to track and manage workflow.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or team leads.
+ Continuously seek ways to improve processes and contribute to team goals.
+ Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
+ Utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as instructed.
+ Follow all safety protocols and guidelines.
Essential Skills
+ Packaging and production expertise.
+ Inspection and general production skills.
+ Proficiency with mechanical, hand, and power tools.
+ Experience with mechanical assembly and pneumatic tools.
+ Ability to interpret blueprints and work orders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Ability to or learn to operate small hand tools.
+ Ability to read work orders and instructions given to perform effectively.
+ Ability to properly lift, pack, stack and wrap up 50 pounds on a regular basis.
+ Good organizational, communication, and math skills.
+ Basic mechanical skills with machinery and tools.
+ Basic computer skills, including internet and scanning systems.

Work Environment
Work the WEEKEND SHIFT: Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM in a non-climate controlled production environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr.
