    Job Title: Lapping Operator 2nd Shift

    Job Description

    The candidate will operate compression mold machines to produce rubber or plastic rings and seals used in the oil and gas industry. Responsibilities include measuring powders and materials, setting up machines, and operating hydraulic presses to mold rubber preforms into seals.

    Responsibilities

    + Inspect first run parts for defects and make necessary adjustments prior to production.

    + Turn preforms, stack preforms, and straighten preforms and parts while parts are in press.

    + Load press platens uniformly with molds of equal height.

    + Handle molds with care to prevent denting or galling of critical machined surfaces, and report any damage to molds or machines to the manager.

    + Verify that preforms fit molds properly and report discrepancies to the Crew Lead.

    + Ensure proper engagement of molds when press closes and pressure is applied, especially when molds are stacked.

    Essential Skills

    + At least 1-2 years of experience in machine operating or as a helper in a machine shop.

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

    + Experience in production/manufacturing.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with machine operation, extruding, molding, injection molding, rubber, and plastic.

    + Skills in machine operations, press operation, and production operation.

    Work Environment

     

    The shop floor is clean, orderly, and climate-controlled, providing a comfortable working environment. As a manufacturing and production setting, it can be hot and loud at times, requiring candidates to have prior experience in similar environments. The role is on the second shift, from 4 PM onwards. Candidates must have their own safety glasses and steel-toed shoes, while other necessary personal protective equipment will be provided.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HUMBLE, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $17.25 - $17.25/hr.
