    Material Handler

    Job Description

    The role of Material Handler involves loading and unloading materials, ensuring quality before unloading, and operating cranes, fork trucks, and lift trucks to move and load steel or aluminum raw materials into presses, feeders, and de-coilers. This position is crucial for maintaining efficient operations within a tiered supplier of medium-to-large stampings, high carbon plates, and sub-assemblies.

    Responsibilities

    + Load and unload materials ensuring quality before unloading.

    + Operate cranes, fork trucks, and lift trucks to move and load raw materials.

    + Ensure steel or aluminum materials are properly loaded into presses, feeders, and de-coilers.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in manufacturing settings.

    + Proficiency in forklift operation.

    + Ability to operate overhead cranes.

    + A steady job history.

    Work Environment

     

    The metal stamping facility supports the automotive industry, particularly heavy trucks and caterpillar equipment. It is a loud environment and not temperature-controlled, which means it can get hot during the summer. The team works collaboratively in a laid-back atmosphere, with a dress code of jeans and steel toe boots. The night shift hours are from 3:30pm to 2:00am, Monday through Thursday, with occasional Fridays depending on workload. Training is conducted on the day shift from 5am to 3:30pm for three to six weeks.

    This is a Contract position based out of Bluffton, Indiana.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.20 - $18.85/hr.
