LOCATION AND POSITION INFORMATION:
This position is located atState Parks Administrative Office, Capitol Annex, in Baton Rouge, LA.
Minimum Qualifications
Six years of experience in landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, or interior design; OR
A bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, or interior design plus three years of experience in landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, or interior design; OR
A current Louisiana license in landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, or interior design plus three years of experience in landscape architecture, architecture, engineering, or interior design.

Job Duties and Other Information
The Facility Project Manager position manages budgeting, design, construction, and other activities for the development of all State Parks recreation & historic sites and their facilities with an average annual budget of approximately $45 million for new projects and approximately $15 million for renovations and repairs.
Job Duties
30% Administrative Duties
• Administer and supervise the section of the agency which is responsible for planning, design, and construction of new State Park and State Historic sites. Also responsible for additions and major capital outlay improvements to any existing facilities.
• Make weekly and daily assignments to staff members and other professional consultants in various levels of development projects.
• Assigns projects and provides technical guidance to staff.
• Provides oversight and indirect supervision of a staff of ten design professionals in collaboration with the Office of Facility Planning and Control and consultant Architects.
• Supervision over the four Facility Project Planners in the management of all budgeting, design, construction, and other related duties for the Office of State Parks.
• Supervision over the over the State Parks Forestry Program Specialist in the development of facility inspections, Property and maintenance management, and other related duties.
• Supervision over the State Parks Land Officer in the development and implementation of feasibility studies, property acquisitions, and right of ways, mineral leases, and other related duties.
30% Long Term Planning
• Coordinates, prepares, updates, and interprets the State Parks Fifteen-Year Master Plan for future development and programming facility needs of all projects approved within the budget.
• Oversees all Facility Planning and Control Projects for the agency.
• Formulates long range planning for projects.
• Develops and supervises the administration of the geographic information system (GIS) for the agency.
• Prepares scopes of work and facility program information used for contracting special planning and feasibility reports by consultants.
• Formulates and implements program operational policies.
20% Capital Outlay Planning & Review
• Coordinates consultant selection on projects not designed in house, reviews and approves design plans of those consultants and, ultimately, construction review and approval for the agency.
• Prepares the capital outlay budget for the agency each year, which includes a projected five-year plan for development.
• Administers, directs, reviews, and approves plans for the development of projects including work done by Landscape Architectural, Architectural, Engineering and Planning consultants, as well as projects done by in-house staff. .
• Reviews and approves facility design work done by consultants at various stages of completion.
• Coordinates the construction phase if developmental projects including bidding, monthly contractor meetings, progress inspections with consultants, final inspections, and acceptance of projects.
15% Repair/ Renovation Project Planning & Review
• Coordinates and supervises technical assistance in planning and designing for park projects for other state, parish, and local government agencies.
• Administers, the expenditure of the annual maintenance repair and renovation budget of the Office of State Parks.
• Supervises the development of construction and contracting documents.
• Administers consultant and/ or maintenance contracts as they relate to repair projects.

• Administers consultant and/ or maintenance contracts as they relate to maintenance or repair projects.
• Develops new and revises existing specifications and standard plans for projects.
• Directs preparation of program reports and feasibility studies.
• Directs the selection and analysis of new sites to be acquired for State Parks areas.
• Ensures that Act of Sale is passed, and the land is entered into the Office of State Parks.
5% State Parks Representation
• Represents the department on committees and commissions.
• Makes presentations to universities, civic organizations, planning commissions, etc.
