License and Certification Qualifications: Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. Current professional HR certification issued by HRCI (PHR or SPHR) or SHRM (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) preferred.Education Qualifications: Master's degree in related field required. Specialist or doctorate degree in related field preferred.Experience Qualifications: Five years of progressively responsible experience, in business administration, human resources, or a related field required.Skills Qualifications: Strong leadership skills; ability to lead, organize, evaluate, and complete multiple tasks/projects concurrently; ability to work well independently within a team and with colleagues, including school-based and district-level personnel; ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries; strong communication skills both verbal and written; ability to work effectively with local school principals, assistant principals, and teachers; ability to provide leadership to internal and external stakeholders; ability to project and generate a positive attitude; ability to design, develop, and facilitate employee experience curriculum that aligns with district and organizational vision, mission, and goals; ability to evaluate effectiveness of programs and develop a model for continuous improvement; ability to stay abreast of effective professional development practices; and ability to lead and facilitate teacher and leadership development learning sessions.Primary Responsibilities: The Director of Employee Experience leads the design and implementation of the overall employee experience strategy for the district while helping to ensure a consistent experience across the employee lifecycle with special attention to critical needs/hard-to-staff positions. The Director of Employee Experience must understand the needs of the current workforce by engaging with employees and leaders to define, design and drive innovative people practices. The Director of Employee Experience must use creative and innovative techniques to retain employees in the education profession and in the district?especially those in critical needs/hard-to-staff teaching positions.1. Design, develop, communicate and implement an employee experience strategy centered around GCPS Core Workplace Practices to ensure that a diverse employee pool is retained long-term in the district with special attention to hard-to-staff/critical needs positions.a. Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the organization to provide leadership and partnership in the design and implementation of employee experience initiatives.b. Serve as a thought partner to principals in the development and execution of local school employee experience plans based on human resources data.c. Monitor progress of employee experience initiatives and make adjustments as needed.d. Use metrics to determine success of employee experience and retention strategy.2. Design, develop, communicate and implement an integrated teacher retention plan correlated with GCPS Core Workplace Practices to ensure that the teacher talent pipeline is being sustained over time in the district through various efforts including: new teacher induction and support, teacher leadership opportunities, teacher feedback sessions, and other district-wide programming.3. Partner closely with HR teams including Talent Management, HR Director Team, Employee Services, Leadership Development, and Staff Development to ensure inclusion, engagement, and performance are woven into all elements of the employee lifecycle.4. Collaborate with Office of Community Engagement to brand and market the district for retention of employees – especially those in critical areas and hard-to-staff teaching positions.5. Track and analyze all new hire/exit survey and social media feedback, employee communications, concerns, and work with stakeholders to provide actionable solutions6. Communicate with internal and external audiences. a. Maintain a close working relationship with school based and district-level administrators to ensure information exchange, coordination of efforts, and general support for the decision-making process. b. Lead efforts to strengthen collaborative relationships between Human Resources and its many stakeholders and partners, including staff as well as faculty and faculty leadership groups.c. Create and foster relationships with colleges and professional organizations to attract, recruit, and retain qualified candidates. d. Articulate innovative employee experience goals, initiatives, and results to internal and external groups.e. Work with federal, state, and community agencies to further GCPS' mission, vision, and goals. 7. Support continuous Improvement. a. Set high standards of performance for self and others. b. Keep well informed about current trends in human resources, employee engagement, and employee retention. c. Attend meetings and conferences which promote professional growth and will benefit the district. d. Cultivate partnerships with leading organizations in education innovation to support the development of innovative employee experience initiatives. e. Promote and support professional development for self and others.8. Supervise Coordinator of Employee Experience9. Perform other duties as assigned.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach.
