Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

+ Assist research personnel in conducting lab work and experiments, including rabbit ocular studies, mice handling, some experience with animal handling and procedures will be preferred, samples isolation and preparation, slide preparation (labeling and sectioning), various staining techniques, microscopy, and assisting with data analysis.

+ Assist the Laboratory Manager with laboratory organization

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a closely related field

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, structural biology, or a related field

+ Experience with structural biology methods, protein purification, and other analytical techniques.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

+ Knowledge of the lab workflow and procedures to assist in any aspect of lab protocol, or ability to learn

+ Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

+ Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

+ Excellent organizational skills, ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and work independently.

+ Excellent attention to detail.

+ Objective analytical reasoning and critical thinking abilities

+ Consistent professional demeanor including reliability, integrity, patience, flexibility and desire to work collaboratively

+ Thoughtful, respectful and mindful abilities to work sensitively and effectively with diverse individuals and in diverse environments and situations
