The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for taking the lead in the direction of the Logistics department consisting of transportation operations. Responsibilities include supervision over operations of delivery stations in the Watts Fort Worth, TX network, including inbound and outbound, packaging and crating, and parcel operations. The Logistics Supervisor actively engages with site leadership to develop and implement new operational improvements; documentation revision and maintenance; workflow efficiency and continual improvement; measurement and compliance to internal and customer requirements; Logistics Management System; and customer and strategic business requirements.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
+ Responsible for measurement system for inbound and outbound operations, on time delivery, and volume planning/contingency planning performance.
+ Analyze and oversight of scheduling and staffing requirements for area responsibility.
+ Lead the logistics system for traceability and tracking of all internal and external process documentation.
+ Coordinates, and maintains logistics objectives in coordination with other functions to optimize product delivery and minimize costs.
+ Supports Platform sourcing initiatives that directly impact logistics.
+ Develops and analyzes statistical data to determine current requirements and establish proposed logistic procedures and reliability expectancy of product delivery. Drives use of sound statistical analysis and related logistic sciences while supporting root cause analysis of safety issues.
+ Directs employees engaged in transportation to ensure that the logistic strategy has been attained in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
+ Plans, promotes, and organizes department training activities to ensure employees receive the appropriate training for the performance of their job functions as it relates to area responsibility initiatives.
+ Works with multi-discipline managers to understand logistic issues throughout the organization.
+ Perform other duties as required.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
+ 5+ years' experience in Logistics related field in high stress environment
+ Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodology
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
+ Ability to drive world class Logistics systems and processes
+ Exceptional communication, team and process skills
+ Ability to work with coworkers effectively while driving change in a matrix environment
+ Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
EDUCATION:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Supply chain, logistics, or related field from an accredited university
MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISON
+ Direct the supervision of the Logistics team
+ Perform annual Performance appraisals on a timely basis
+ Lead team to work in a safe manner at all times and comply with safety policies and standards
+ Knowledge and experience in Transportation or Supply Chain.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work in office and manufacturing environment
May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
+ Shop floor working environment
+ Noise level is moderate with intervals of spikes
+ Required to wear safety glasses, steel toes, hearing protection and utilize other safety equipment as required while present on the shop floor

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must lift and/or move up to 40 pounds alone. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
