Job Title: Lead Cabling Technician

Job Type: Ongoing contract

Job Description:

TEKsystems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cabling Technician for one of our clients in Wilmington, NC. The successful candidate will oversee the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems for a large commercial space of approximately one million square feet, supporting Amazon Robotics. This role requires a strong understanding of cabling standards, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively.

Responsibilities:

+ Lead and supervise a team of cabling technicians.

+ Install, terminate, and test various types of cabling including fiber optics, CAT5e, CAT6, and coaxial.

+ Ensure all installations meet industry standards and customer specifications.

+ Perform site surveys and provide accurate project estimates.

+ Troubleshoot and resolve cabling issues.

+ Maintain accurate documentation of installations and repairs.

+ Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure timely project completion.

+ Adhere to safety protocols and company policies.

+ Lead a team in pulling and installing cables efficiently and safely.

Requirements:

+ Prior experience leading commercial cabling projects.

+ Strong knowledge of cabling standards and best practices.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

+ Excellent problem-solving skills.

+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

+ Relevant certifications (e.g., BICSI, RCDD) are a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
