    This position is responsible for providing clinical leadership and direction for clinic licensed and unlicensed nursing services and ensuring continuity and consistency across all assigned clinic departments. Assists and collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to establish standards of clinical practice, policies and procedures, planning and operations for assigned nursing/unlicensed assistive professionals. Accountabilities include development and enhancement of nursing services, quality of services, short- and long-range planning directly related to the clinic nursing services, to achieve goals and objectives, fiscal control and responsibility to manage revenue and costs, physician and interdepartmental relations, and personnel management. Ensures the delivery of quality, cost-effective health care services.

    Qualifications:

    + Current Montana RN license or a multistate compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana, required.

    + Bachelor's of Nursing required. Masters preferred.

    + Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant nursing leadership experience required.

    + Current Healthcare Provider CPR required as applicable to assigned area(s).

    + Possess working knowledge of the health care environment, healthcare reform and care delivery systems as they apply to the clinics practice of the assigned area(s).

    + Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

    + Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

    + Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

    + Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed

    Job Specific Duties:

    + Leads, develops and revises programs which enhance clinic nursing and business unit services with applicable stakeholders. Decisions specify the nursing service priorities to be supported and/or implemented with the department leaders and how resources will be allocated. Acts as a recognized area expert within Logan Health clinics and to other health care providers.

    + Responsible for development and implementation of nursing services program integration and standardization, process improvement initiatives, education, competencies, accreditation and regulatory compliance

    + Supports patient satisfaction for clinic nursing services

    + Coordinates with Senior Leadership and physicians to assure continuity in pursuing business unit/system goals and synergy in implementing plans and problem resolution.

    + Oversees Managers, Supervisors/Coordinators, and other direct reports with preparation of business unit budget, staffing, objectives, standards, and staff education/competency programs.

    + Leads clinic nursing services in evidence-based program development and service priorities that support a quality-focused environment and the financial objectives of the organization. Coordinates with Clinic Operations, CNO, Senior Leadership and physicians to assure continuity in pursuing nursing goals and synergy in implementing plans and problem resolution.

    + Oversees practice standards and applicable staff education programs.

    + Recommends, implements, and evaluates plans and systems that assures sufficient number of qualified and competent staff to provide care/services.

    + Practices process improvement principles to assess and improve the quality of the service/care provided within the clinic nursing areas. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant to job performance for clinic nursing services and ensures departmental and staff compliance.

    + Exhibits transformational leadership skills and the ability to (communicate a shared vision, influences behaviors through coaching and positive role modeling and engaging in patient-centered care, monitors performance expectations, provides constructive feedback and clinical mentoring, and builds teamwork through collaboration.

    + As applicable to assigned area(s): Exhibits structural empowerment as demonstrated by participation and support of shared governance models for professional practice development by clinical nurses, unit council meetings and activities, and peer-based committees for safety, ethics, research, evidence-base practice (EBP), quality improvement, clinical review, products, and documentation.

    + Exhibits a demonstrated commitment to the mission and organizational values of Logan Health. Maintains standards of care and adheres to organizational policies and procedures. Maintains a demeanor of innovative and professional leadership, civility, teamwork and customer service while undertaking all tasks and interactions within Logan Health.

    + Coordinates and/or develops ongoing performance improvement activities for clinical staff and monitors nursing compliance with standards and regulatory requirements. Participates in the preparation of the Plan of Correction response to an inspection survey and implements any follow-up QA required for any departmental or clinical allegations and/or findings, as applicable to assigned area(s).

    + Works closely with the Nursing Informaticists and Information Services to ensure information systems are in place to support clinic nursing services initiatives.

    Maintains regular and consistent attendance as scheduled by department leadership.

    Day Shift - Variable Hours (United States of America)

    Schedule:

    Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
