Position Overview
The Production Manager oversees scheduled production, monitors manufacturing performance of our products, and provides support functions to both employees and operations. This position is responsible for the supervision and safety of employees, the implementation of continuous improvement processes and procedures, and adherence to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the management of all personnel within manufacturing operations. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Forkardt policies and applicable State and Federal regulations and laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and directing work activities; other functions involve effective communications with subordinates, performance appraisals, employee rewards and disciplinary action, addressing complaints, and resolving work related problems.
Oversee the planning functions, forecasts, demands, and lead times impacting production. Assign work, allocate resources, and delegate tasks to ensure the organization is meeting its deliverables. Oversee direct supervision of employee activities and assembly processes to ensure that manpower, materials, and equipment are utilized effectively. Promote safety and quality procedures as well as productivity and efficiency improvements.
Utilize effective leadership skills to maintain organizational productivity. Lead employees, coordinate work assignments based on production requirements, and monitor production to adhere to organization standards.
Coordinate with internal teams to establish root causes of issues and effectively communicate corrective actions
Document, implement, and manage production schedules. Monitor progress and revise schedules to maintain efficient production. Effectively communicate the successes achieved and the challenges that were faced.
Encourage employee development for increased flexibility in meeting production demands. Coordinate employee training to expand available skill sets.
Oversee the work environment to ensure a safe and clean organization.
Encourage the development of SOP's for production audits.
Stay current in technological and innovative trends related to quality aspects of the business. Through reading periodicals, attending trade shows and conferences, participating in technical training programs, and engaging in networking within the industry, information and knowledge gained aids in the planning and application of production processes within the company.
Oversee and implement ISO activities for production by regularly generating and/or reviewing reports ensuring that all paperwork is accurate and complete.
Work closely with other Leaders and Managers for continued efficient and effective manufacturing processes.
Ensure compliance to company policies and guidelines.
Skills & Qualifications
To qualify for consideration for this position an Associate's Degree or higher in Industrial or Operations Management with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience is preferred; a non-degreed candidate with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a production supervisory role in a manufacturing setting may be considered in lieu of the preferred qualifications.
Communications skills must include the ability to read, analyze, interpret, and apply common scientific and technical information from various journals and similar sources. Must possess the ability to effectively present information to non-company sales personnel and to Forkardt and outside management personnel; this involves communicating effectively in technical and non-technical terms with contacts inside and outside Forkardt in a professional manner.
Must have experience with Excel, JDE / Oracle (ERP), and Sharepoint. Strong organizational skills are required.
Possess the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from Forkardt employees and customers in an effective and satisfactory manner or means.
Possess knowledge of cause and corrective action techniques as well as preventative action techniques.
Possess the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions as required to carry out job responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to talk, hear and otherwise communicate with employees, management and others. This position requires the ability to lift 30 lbs., bend, stoop, and reach. Employees may be expected to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range: $80,000-$100,00
