    THE POSITION

    Utilize your experience in testing and repairing electronic equipment in a new and rewarding way! The State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Albion is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor to join our team! In this role, you will instruct, coach, and educate inmates in the field of electronics. Apply today and share your expertise to help inmates learn employable skills for use upon their release!

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor, you will supervise and instruct inmates in a structured classroom and on-the-job training program in the electronics trade at SCI Albion. Training and instruction will include the standard practices, methods, and procedures of the electronics trade involving the maintenance and repair of various electronic and mechanical devices used in the electronics, radio, and television repair or broadcast industry. In this position, you will conduct classroom training, maintain documentation of inmates’ progress, and oversee inmate work crews completing work orders. You can expect to plan and inspect daily work assignments, issue and inventory materials and tools used, and conduct searches to ensure materials and tools are accounted for. Additionally, you will maintain order and discipline of inmates during work assignments and classroom instruction.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment, 40 hours per week

    + Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

    + This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.

    + Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

    + Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $50,846.00 (before taxes).

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment;or

    + An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Other Requirements:

    + Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
