Position Description:
As an analyst in the Payroll & Tax Department, you will support our team members by working in the processing area. This area within our department processes the on-cycle and off-cycle payrolls. We are a shared service for Texas Tech University, Texas Tech University Systems, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso chart of accounts. You will need to be able to communicate efficiently and in a timely manner with each chart of account. We are looking for a person with an eye for detail, strong mathematical problem-solving skills and a positive outlook. In this role, you will be responsible for working payment requests and processing them in a timely manner to meet our deadlines. You will need to communicate with other team members throughout the process to ensure productivity and efficiency.

Major/Essential Functions:
+ Research and process off-cycle payments, such as manual check requests, award payments, lump sum vacation payouts and post-employment payments
+ Process off-cycle refunds and adjustments requests
+ Work daily reports to ensure payroll payments process correctly
+ Assist with on-cycle payroll processes as needed
+ Calculate overpayment and send notification to employees
+ Communicating effectively with departments, Human Resources, current and former employees via email, phone or in person
+ Working within spreadsheets and databases
+ Stay up to date with a task tracking system and a digital notebook used for documentation
+ Working and communicating within a small team
+ Able to follow a schedule to meet deadlines

+ Fluency with technology including TEAMS, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, One-Note and Planner
