Job Description Summary
The Nutrition & Food Services Dietary Aide may have the following duties: Uses safe and sanitary institutional foodservice principles to scrap, wash and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and other small foodservice equipment in the 3-compartment sink and automatic pot washing machine. Organizes and cleans assigned areas and equipment; and assists with dishwashing by operating the dish machine to wash and sanitize dishes, trays, flatware, pots, pans, etc. to meet all service schedules. Monitors temperatures, water flow, and chemical dispensing systems and sanitizers on equipment used. May prepare and portion needed salads, gelatins and cold foods in forms and quantities to meet assigned foodservice schedules. May interpret production sheet data to determine food requirements according to regular and modified patient diet orders. May follow standardized recipes to accomplish necessary food production. May weigh, measure and chop ingredients. May stock and work on the patient tray line, portion foods for tray services, and prepare and deliver patient nourishments and courtesy trays according to safe and sanitary institutional foodservice principles. This Dietary Aide communicates with patients, families, supervisors, and co-workers. May be responsible for delivering and retrieving patient meal trays, nourishments and courtesy trays, providing individualized assistance to every patient, must be conscious of details in meal presentation and service, correctly identify each patient while maintaining confidentiality. Professional behavior is required at all times. May be responsible for serving food to customers on tray line, cafeteria, catering, doctors lounge and Oak Garden with correct details in meal presentation and service. Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or GED. Some training and/or background in Customer Service.
LANGUAGE/ COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Ability to read, write and follow spoken and / or written instructions in English as would normally be achieved with 9 to 11 years of schooling.
SKILLS:
Ability and stamina to work well with others in close quarters while meeting tight time schedules. Manual dexterity and motor coordination are required to handle dishes, serve food and trays efficiently, and to work with various cleaning supplies.
3. Ability to move, transport trays, carts, equipment and supplies.
