Job Description:
The University of Florida College of Medicine is seeking a qualified Adjunct Clinical Postdoctoral Associate to join our team as part of a formal, structured training program in the Non-Standard Training category recognized by the ACGME. In this first-year assignment, the selected candidate will collaborate with the UF Health Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment (UF Health CAN) to expand Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) services, with a primary focus on clinical contracts and applied research. Additional opportunities may include involvement in various research and clinical initiatives aligned with the UF Health CAN mission. This position offers advanced postdoctoral-level training in applied behavior analysis within complex inpatient medical and psychiatric care settings, with the goal of developing specialized expertise in this critical area of practice.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Provide behavioral consultation services under clinical contracts in inpatient medical and psychiatric hospital settings, focusing on children with severe behavior disorders.
+ Expand the application of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and treatment services within healthcare settings, contributing to both clinical practice and research.
+ Conduct applied research evaluating the integration of behavior analysis strategies in medical settings, with an emphasis on advancing the field and improving patient care.
+ Participate as a key academic team member by providing education and mentorship to medical providers, trainees, and allied health professionals on behavior analytic approaches to individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders and severe behavior concerns.
+ Engage in regular didactic, case-based, and experiential learning activities as part of the structured training curriculum, which includes supervised clinical experiences, interdisciplinary collaboration, and research mentorship.
+ Contribute to the ongoing development and evaluation of the training program by participating in feedback sessions, competency assessments, and quality improvement activities.
+ Collaborate closely with UF Health CAN and related providers within the UF Health system to support system-wide education on evidence-based behavioral interventions for complex patient populations.
Initial appointments will be for one year and may extend for another year based on performance and available funding.
Expected Salary:
$62,838.24 annually
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. with an emphasis in applied behavior analysis, board certification as a behavior analyst (BCBA), and at least one year of experience in assessment and treatment of severe behavior disorders. ABD applicants may be considered.
Preferred:
Expertise in severe behavior and training practices, experience with and interest in interdisciplinary collaboration, and board certification as a doctoral-level behavior analyst (BCBA-D).
