    Responsibilities

    **POSITION SUMMARY:** It is the responsibility of this role to set up and oversee molding machine operation to ensure efficiency and quality, and to occasionally serve as back up in the absence of a Shift Supervisor.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES include, but are not limited to:

    + Exemplifies the Amcor Behaviors and Values at all times. Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing Amcor inside and outside of the plant.

    + Set up injection molding machines for operation, change material and color to meet production schedules.

    + Must have a technical understanding of process and raw materials used.

    + Keep supervisor/management informed of all problems.

    + Startup machines and monitor quality at start up.

    + Make appropriate adjustments to machines to maintain efficient production levels and document appropriately.

    + Respond to Quality Assurance Techs by adjusting machines to maintain appropriate sizes and standards.

    + Review production schedules and ensure machines are running production to meet customer demands.

    + Respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions and/or Packer/Handler problems.

    + Use proper Lockout/tagout procedures.

    + Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments concerning machine operations and malfunctions.

    + Inspect scrap to prevent any usable product from being ground and record scrap numbers.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Strong communication skills - verbal and written

    + Must be able to read and complete various forms in writing and on the computer.

    + Prior plastic injection molding experience is highly preferred.

    + Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed.

    + Possess or obtain a technical understanding of injection-molding processes and procedures.

    + Regularly required to stand for long periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel, objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.

    + Good hand-eye coordination is required.

    + Frequently required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

    + Frequent exposure to production floor; required use of PPE including but not limited to: Bump Cap, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hair/beard nets, Hearing Protection and Disposable Mask, if required.

    + Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

    + Specific vision abilities required include distance, peripheral, and depth perception.

    + Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.

    + Independent in working effectively with little supervision; self-starter, displaying ability to work and deliver results in a fast-paced, performance driven environment.

    + Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to work as a cross-functional team member.
