    The Office of the Registrar, Homewood (OTR) is seeking a **_Degree Audit Specialist_** who will report to the Senior Programmer Analyst. The Office of the Registrar Homewood is comprised of technical and functional experts on all functions of the Registrar's office, including protection and integrity of the student records, reporting compliance, institutional needs, data stewardship, technical enhancements, and business solutions.

     

    Under the supervision of the Sr. Programmer Analyst, the Degree Audit Specialist will be responsible for compiling and programming KSAS and WSE (Undergraduate and Graduate) degree and program requirements into degree audit software through collaboration with the Schools, Academic Departments, Advising Offices, OUR, and other stakeholders, including the review, the interpretation, and updating of requirements; training of faculty/staff, and degree audit documentation upkeep.

     

    Further, this position will ensure quality management, user acceptance testing, and ensure requirements for software solutions are met. The Degree Audit Specialist will work closely with the Director of Records to ensure curriculum accuracy.

    Specific Duties & Responsibilities

    + Provide support to Project leads on projects that range from basic to moderately complex.

    + Under guidance from Project leads, gather user requirements, contribute to a transition plan, and help convert them to workable solutions.

    + Work with business partners and the project team to pivot current practices, processes, and applications as needed.

    + Analyze information and make recommendations with supporting rationale.

    + Write clear and well-structured business requirements/documents.

    + Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations.

    _Other Duties & Responsibilities_

    + Serves as principal functional and technical lead on maintenance of degree requirements and user acceptance testing/training in the degree audit system.

    + Research and resolve discrepancies in the degree audit system and other propagated systems, and conduct needs analyses necessitated for future system improvements.

    + Create systems documentation and update current documentation as processes and procedures change.

    + Facilitate requirements gathering, stakeholder communication, generating test cases, and user acceptance testing, and provide detailed updates and analysis of the progress to OTR leadership. Interprets and implements academic policies, as they relate to the degree audit, making recommendations to appropriate partners.

    + Monitor, observe, and ensure processes and practices that actively safeguard student data (per the University's FERPA policy).

    + Handle Stellic administrative tasks as assigned.

    + Ability to develop test cases and facilitate user acceptance testing.

    + Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives with both technical and non-technical audiences.

    + Effective communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.

    + Strong organizational skills and the ability to support multiple projects/assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.

    + Strong attention to detail.

     

    _**This is a fixed-term position with an end date of 6/30/26._

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree.

    + Two years of related experience in information technology or project management.

    + Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Related classwork or internships with computer systems and project management.

    + Experience maintaining/codifying Stellic or similar degree audit platforms.

    + Experience leading and coordinating projects.

    + Experience in higher education information systems and developing queries, updating data, troubleshooting, and delivering user-friendly reports.

    + Experience working with student record systems.

    + Knowledge of FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), and all laws, rules, and regulations related to JHU policies is desired.

    Starting Salary Range: $53,800 - $94,400 Annually ($75,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)

     

    Employee group: Full Time

     

    Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00a - 3:30p

     

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    The listed salary range represents the minimum and maximum Johns Hopkins University offers for this position, based on a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as location, skills, experience, market conditions, education, and internal equity. Not all candidates will qualify for the highest salary in the range.
