Responsibilities
Performs preventative maintenance tasks.
• Answers direct requests from the manufacturing floor “calls” by making the initial evaluation of the
situation and determining what level of maintenance is needed for the issue/repair.
• Will resolve requests from the manufacturing floor.
• Performs all tasks necessary to operate maintenance room equipment according to procedure.
• Maintains equipment in production ready and safe condition.
• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment as needed.
• Participates in cross functional process improvement teams.
• Actively participates in daily team production meetings – communicates key items within the plant
environment on safety, quality, maintenance, production and continuous improvement.
• Follows work instructions as needed.
• Performs root cause analysis when problems to determine if actions can be taken immediately or
appropriate personnel need to be called.
• Maintains 5S environment in work area.
• Administers equipment preventative maintenance program.
• Participates in equipment optimization and cost control/reduction activities.
• Assists maintenance staff to ensure all auxiliary equipment is in place and in working order.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Prefer at least 3 to 5 years-experience in a manufacturing environment. Must pass Maintenance Tech Trainee Test.
• Must possess a high degree of skill and a broad knowledge of mechanical principles and electromechanical techniques, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, robotics or other technical expertise, PLC’s
plus diversified long term experience.
• Possesses well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to utilize basic and advanced hand tools for a multitude of applications.
• Ability to read blueprints & schematics (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic).
• Ability to read, write and follow written or verbal instructions.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Computer experience is preferred.
• Must take maintenance Ivy Tech courses (6-total) within 18-months of assuming position
