    Essential functions (job duties):

    Job Purpose:

    The Marketing Project Manager oversees, optimizes and manages marketing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet their objectives in alignment with Michigan Poison and Drug Information Center (MiPDC) communications and marketing plan, and are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. The Marketing Project Manager serves as the lead communications and marketing contact for MiPDC. and is responsible for informing, educating, and empowering the population served in poison prevention and to reduce poisoning risks. Supports the Administrative and Clinical Directors of the MiPDC by establishing and implementing marketing, public relations and advocacy initiatives and attaining center goals.

    Essential Functions:

    Develop detailed project plans, including creative briefs, scope, timelines, budgets, approvals, and resource allocation, to ensure successful execution of marketing initiatives for the MiPDC. Champions actionable results, alignment, and accountability to achieve marketing goals.

     

    Coordinate with cross-functional teams both inside and outside the University, and tracking project performance using appropriate metrics and tools.Develop, execute, and manage a robust social media relation’s presence. Identify the most effective social media outlets to promote the poison center and educate audiences on poison prevention and toxicology. Create and maintain the poison center’s website. Identify and publish educational information and events. Prepare relevant reports, analyses, and summaries on center’s public social media activities.

     

    Partner with marketing department to create various promotional and educational materials. Ensure brand is represented consistently across all marketing mediums. Responsible for integrating marketing activities that include, but are not limited to, use of social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok, etc., as well as using traditional media in the form of billboards, radio, and TV for the statewide center while providing a uniform messaging with the America’s Poison Centers (APC).Communicates and meets regularly with state-wide constituents and other entities to ensure awareness and alignment of in-progress and upcoming communications and marketing priorities, gather feedback, obtain approvals and adjust work as needed to stay on track.

     

    Track industry trends, prepare market and targeting assessments and monitor initiatives to inform marketing and partner engagement strategies. Brings creative solutions to bear on marketing challenges and opportunities.

     

    Maintain a knowledge base of new and emerging technology and develop strategies for implementation of new technology within organization. Research, develop and share new technologies, skills and creative processes with staff, volunteers, and community producers.

     

    Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including creative, social media, web, public relations and others to ensure project components are progressing as planned.

     

    Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Unique duties:

    Qualifications:

    Education: Bachelor's degree

     

    Marketing, Business Administration, Media Arts & Studies public relations, marketing, graphic design, communication, educational media, instructional technology, or related discipline. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

     

    Experience: Specialist (minimum 5 years of job-related experience)

     

    Experience in branding, promotions, and advertising with special emphasis in knowledge of social media, video planning and production. Must have creative background and credentials, with ability to take ideas from concept to completion within broader strategic vision.

     

    Experience with budget management and oversight.

     

    A strong understanding of the creative process, video production, media content opportunities. Demonstrated proficiency with advanced functions within MS Office suite of software. Proficient with major social media platforms and applications.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Deep understanding of marketing strategies, channels, branding, customer behavior, creative brief development, budgeting and content creation. Experience turning complex educational and medical messages into engaging media designs and campaigns.

     

    Proven project management skills, efficiently managing deadlines and prioritizing tasks to ensure timely project delivery. Ability to work in a changing, fast paced environment.

     

    Proficient in project management tools.

     

    Build strong relationships with university and outside partners and guide the creation and implementation of an integrated marketing and communications plan

     

    Strong problem solving and strategic thinking abilities.

     

    Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and communication skills to influence and lead across all organizational levels.

     

    Outstanding organization and attention to detail.

     

    Ability to identify and resolve issues that arise during project execution
