    L&S Terminal Services - Continuous Improvement and Systems Support - Terminal Automation is responsible for the oversight and administration of automation systems that deliver light oil and asphalt products at our more than 100 truck loading facilities across the US.

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Terminal Automation Analyst will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the automation systems within our terminal operations. This role involves analyzing system performance, troubleshooting issues, implementing improvements, and leveraging SQL database expertise to drive data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Support terminal maintenance and growth by contributing to strategies that modernize the business and strengthen long-term market competitiveness, including L3S projects and IT roadmap initiatives.

    + Monitor and maintain terminal automation systems to ensure optimal performance.

    + Analyze business data using SQL queries to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.

    + Write and optimize complex SQL queries, including joins and functions, to extract and manipulate data for business insights.

    + Partner with IT and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve system and database issues.

    + Collaborate with various internal and external business partners, including TEPAC, CMD, Measurements, CPVC, Electronic Services, MPLX third parties, Accounting, Refining, G&P, and others on TAS-related items.

    + Manage and prioritize system enhancement requests to align with business goals.

    + Develop and implement automation strategies that integrate database management and data analytics to enhance operational efficiency.

    + Ensure proper system access, conduct regular reviews, and maintain compliance.

    + Provide training and support to terminal staff on automation systems and SQL data analysis best practices.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    + Bachelor's degree with specializations in Business, Engineering, Technology, or a related field required - Data Science and Analytics, Software Engineering, and Information Systems preferred

    + Proven experience in terminal automation, SCADA, refinery DCS, or a similar role.

    + Proven ability to work independently and as part of a highly collaborative team.

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in SQL database management and complex query development.

    + Prior experience with Crystal Reports, PowerBI, and/or Tableau is preferred.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in translating requirements between business and technical partners.

    + Understanding commercial systems and their integration with operations is preferred.

    + Experience with automation platforms and tools, such as Fuel-FACS and Phase 6, is beneficial but not required.

    + Knowledge or experience with terminal loading rack equipment, such as Accuload presets, PLCs, driver interface entry devices (RedLion/FMC DET), weigh scale operations, automated offloading, load rack truck re-fueling process, KEPWare, etc., is preferred.

    + Proficiency in SQL, database administration, and data analysis techniques is highly desirable.
