    Automation Engineer – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

    **Location:** Irvine, California

    **Terms:** Full-Time, Onsite | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

    **Pay:** Competitive (Based on Experience) | Opportunity for Overtime

     

    Our client, a leading innovator in pharmaceutical manufacturing, is seeking a hands-on and detail-driven **Automation Engineer** to support advanced drug production in a GMP-regulated environment. This is a high-impact role focused on designing, developing, and maintaining control systems critical to product quality, safety, and compliance.

    Responsibilities

    + Design, program, and maintain PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA-based automation systems.

    + Support the integration of new technologies and products into existing manufacturing lines.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues in a timely and effective manner.

    + Develop and update system specifications, SOPs, and validation documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ).

    + Lead investigations into control system failures and support corrective actions.

    + Implement automation strategies aligned with 21 CFR Part 11 and GMP standards.

    + Support utilities, lyophilizers, CIP/SIP systems, and automated inspection equipment.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

    + Maintain accurate engineering documentation and change control records

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Biotech Engineering preferred.

    + 4+ years of automation engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.

    + Proficient in Rockwell Automation platforms, including FactoryTalk and ControlLogix.

    + Solid understanding of batch processing principles (S88/S95) and validation protocols.

    + Experience supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations is a plus.

    + Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

    + Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team setting.This job description is a complete list of all desired skills, but not all are required.
