About Colorado Mental Health Hospital in Pueblo:
Located within the Colorado Department of Human Services, the Office of Civil and Forensic Mental Health (OCFMH) is responsible for policy development, service provision and coordination, program monitoring and evaluation, and administrative oversight for the public behavioral health system. OCFMH funds, supports and monitors numerous mental health and substance abuse community programs and providers. OCFMH also operates the Colorado Mental Health Hospitals at Fort Logan and Pueblo and the Forensic Services Division. OCFMH executes the States’ federal responsibilities as the State Mental Health Authority and State Substance Abuse Authority for the purposes of administering federal mental health and substance abuse block grant funds.
The Forensic Services Division is responsible for six departments including Forensic Community Based Services (FCBS), Jail Based Evaluation and Restoration (JBR), Outpatient Restoration (OPR), the Forensic Support Team (FST), the Court Services Department, and the Operations Department.
The Court Services Program is a statewide program with offices in Pueblo and Denver. It manages and monitors the compliance of court orders issued by the courts for evaluations of competency, sanity, and mental condition in criminal cases which are performed by licensed psychologists and psychiatrists in accordance with Colorado Revised Statute. The work unit is also responsible for compliance with the 2019 Consent Decree.
Our teams work within various settings including community agencies, jails, courts, and hospitals. The locations can include locked units and secure facilities, and our clients may at times be unpredictable due to their mental health needs. Our team is required to make critical decisions in dynamic and fast-paced environments in order to ensure a high level of accountability for patient care. Our staff are required to maintain updated skills, knowledge, abilities, and competencies necessary to the position through continuing education, clinical supervision, literature review, and discipline and team development. This position may be required to travel throughout Colorado to meet the needs of the department.
Description of Job
About the Position:
This position exists to provide administrative support to the Inpatient Restoration Evaluations Team and general administrative support to Court Services. Court Services is also responsible for the 2019 Consent Decree which has specific time frame mandates; this position has specific responsibilities for tracking assigned evaluations involved with this settlement agreement as well as other assigned evaluations. This position is required to work within a team structure to manage a high volume of work produced by clinical professionals adhering to all deadlines. This position works in conjunction with the team coordinator to implement, modify, and utilize office management skills and administrative procedures to complete time-sensitive reports and other administrative duties as assigned. This position works with the team to decide the most efficient means of accomplishing duties while prioritizing workload under changing work conditions. This position uses critical thinking skills to clarify pertinent data with administrative and document current, permanent, primary job duties.
Job Duties
Processing Court Reports
+ Works with an assigned team to track, receive, and process court-ordered competency evaluations for defendants ordered to receive inpatient restoration to competency evaluations
+ Assists coordinator in the monitoring of court dates in adherence to court orders and Consent Decree time frames
+ Responsible for processing court-ordered assessments/evaluation reports received from clinicians to include inpatient competency and inpatient restoration to competency assessments in an accurate and timely manner
+ Reports must be prepared in standard format to meet internal hospital policies with approved standard cover letters prepared for presentation for review and signature, then prepared for mailing to the state courts
+ Work comes in from various individuals at unexpected intervals
Information Management / Data Entry
+ Works with a team to develop and maintain systems to manage records, files, and logs of all assigned evaluations to ensure reports are completed and to the courts per established deadlines
+ Works to keep all involved parties informed of anticipated time frames and/or any related challenges
+ Maintains process to ensure timely entries are made in databases established for and utilized by Court Services
Monitoring / Tracking
+ Assigns a number of full-time and part-time evaluators (may vary) and is responsible for the monitoring of court report due dates in adherence to court orders and mandates related to the 2019 Consent Decree
Other Duties as Assigned
+ This position may be called upon to perform tasks or undertake special assignments or projects deemed necessary by OBH, but not specifically referenced in the above duties and any other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience Only
Three (3) yearsof relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position

Education and Experience
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal tothree (3) years

Felony convictions, conviction of crimes of moral turpitude, or convictions of misdemeanors related to job duties may disqualify you from being considered for this position. Preferred Qualifications:
+ Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with the Google Suite of applications and platform
+ Knowledge of proper compositional practices to aid in writing and proofreading
+ Experience with judicial or legal documentation and interpretation of court orders
+ Experience tracking court-imposed deadlines
+ Experience working with confidential information
+ Experience compiling, proofing, and editing various reports
+ Good communication skills
+ Critical thinking and decision-making skills
+ Familiarity with Google Suite as well as proficient with computers and basic data entry
+ Good analytic and problem-solving skills
+ Experience with judicial or legal documentation
+ Experience with proofing and editing
