Job Summary
TOPS SCADA Provide complex technical support and training for computer Energy Management (EMS) Systems or Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and other technical infrastructure used in Transmission Operations centers. Position requires a high degree of adaptability, and a focus on meeting customer needs and continuous improvement in the systems supported.

What You'll Do:
Transmission and Distribution** **SCADA Displays
+ Provide leadership and guidance to Analysts in problem resolution and support activities through training and mentorship.
+ Represent the EMS/SCADA Display group in task forces, working groups, and special projects with minimal supervision.
+ Ensure reliable operations of EMS and SCADA systems, making recommendations for improvements in quality and reliability.
+ Maintain and enhance real-time data interfaces, tools, and software for EMS and SCADA.
+ Stay updated on current technologies to keep EMS and SCADA tools current and effective.
+ Build and maintain custom online displays for EMS and SCADA systems.
+ Build and maintain tabular displays for EMS and SCADA systems
+ Define and implement internal standards for EMS and SCADA.
+ Conduct complex troubleshooting and problem resolution across all areas of expertise.
+ Provide after-hours support for EMS/SCADA systems as necessary.
What We Are Looking For:
DMS/EMS/SCADA Analyst (grade 7)
Education:
+ Associates Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related Technical field or higher from an accredited college/university or
+ high school diploma and two years related military or electric utility technical experience.
Experience:
+ Four (4) years DMS/EMS/SCADA experience with Associates Degree and Six (6) years of experience with a high school diploma.
+ Individuals with a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of DMS/EMS/SCADA experience may be considered for entry into the organization at this level. In addition to the DMS/EMS/SCADA experience noted above.
_Detailed knowledge is required in two of the following areas: Application development Operating System support Computer system administration Database technologies and support **Distribution - can use this job family, need to update language in actual posting to reflect DMS and Distribution and remove EMS and transmission references Education (job posting update) - Associates degree or high school diploma and two years equivalent technical, utility or military experience - same as above._
DMS/EMS/SCADA Analyst Sr (grade 8)
Education:
+ Associates Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related Technical field or higher from an accredited college/university or
+ High school diploma and two years related military or electric utility technical experience.
Experience:
+ Six (6) years EMS/SCADA experience with Associates Degree or eight (8) years of experience with a high school diploma.
+ Individuals with a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of EMS/SCADA experience may be considered for entry into the organization at this level.
In addition to the EMS/SCADA experience noted above, detailed knowledge is required in three other pertinent areas below:
+ Application development Operating System support
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
+ These are additional expectations for the job and could include specific work experience, license / certifications, preemployment testing, expectations about travel, shift work, etc. Demonstrate expert understanding of operational practices of applicable equipment and software in assigned areas of knowledge Strong skills in communication, issue resolution, organization, and facilitation are essential.
+ Solid understanding of the business unit / operating company systems is preferred. 4Experience with SCADA systems required. Identify all equipment in the substation with no guidance and develops primary function of this equipment.
+ Participates in industry SCADA research and provides AEP improvement suggestions. Easily identify regional differences and can provide high-level guidance on SCADA applications in each region.
