UPMC Corporate Finance is seeking a **Lead Accounting Analyst** to join our high-performing team!     Purpose:

    Responsible for performing comprehensive accounting and analytical functions to support the maintenance of general ledger accounts and the oversight of balance sheet reconciliations. This role will also focus on the development and enhancement of financial statements and reports for Finance leadership. The position plays a key role in supporting financial audits, including coordinating necessary requirements and actively participating in the audit process. Additionally, this role includes the supervision, training, and performance management of accounting team members to ensure effective team operations.

     

    **Location & schedule:** This position will be based out of the US Steel Tower in Pittsburgh, PA. This position will have the potential to work from home with a hybrid schedule which includes 2 days in office and 3 days at home per week.

    Responsibilities:

    + Manage financial statement preparation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and/or Divisional/UPMC policies and procedures. Interprets financial transactions and events for users who must make economic or business decisions

    + Review of journal entries for staff’s assigned areas of responsibilities to ensure accuracy.

    + Trains, supervises, and manages the performance of personnel including the establishment of performance standards, objectives and annual reviews, which must be completed in a timely manner.Will formally supervise a minimum of 2.0 FTE's.

    + Develops administrative tasks, special projects and training programs as assigned. Acts a liaison for the department in meetings with management.

    + Prepares detailed analyses and reviews submissions related to audit(s) and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) testing.

    + Prepares reconciliation of actual to budget variance analysis.

    + Reviews general ledger account reconciliations for designated accounts. Proposes and assists with correcting entries.

    + Bachelor's degree in accounting or related business field required.

    + Minimum of five years of related work experience required.

    + A Master's degree or CPA license and four years of experience will also be considered.

    + CPA/MBA preferred.

    + Prior experience leading/supervising staff preferred.

    + Microsoft Office spreadsheet application required and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**
