The opportunity

Delaware North Gaming is hiring a full-time Greyhound Racing Recorder to join our team at Wheeling Island Casino in Wheeling, West Virginia. As a Greyhound Racing Recorder, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate recording of each greyhound’s position in each official race. Also responsible for entering this and other pertinent information into the racing computer system in accordance with the Company’s GuestPath Universal Service and Operations Standards. What will you do?

+ Follow and comply with all rules of greyhound racing and any racing policies that are applicable

+ Accurately records each greyhound’s position in each official race

+ Enter and ensure that all information is accurate and in a timely manner

+ Record order of finish, race times, post weights and comments into the data base.

+ Determine positions of each greyhound at the break, 1/8 call and the stretch call for official schooling and live races.

+ Record payouts, carry over pools and handle them into the computer database.

+ Proofread each chart before distribution

+ Record and enter all mutual pricing information

+ Perform as a team member and assist fellow associates to ensure a smooth operation

+ Greeting guests appropriately, treating each person as an individual and in a professional manner

+ Role model the GuestPath Universal Service Standards interacting positively through relationships with guests, fellow associates and members of the management team displaying genuine concern and mutual respect for people’s needs

+ Provide leadership to others through example and sharing knowledge and skill

+ Understand the goals and vision of the organization and demonstrate commitment to those goals in terms of individual and team performance

More about you

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ One to three years previous experience in greyhound racing is preferred

+ West Virginia Racing Commission License required

+ Must be willing to work following schedule:

+ Wednesday - Sunday 11:00am-5:00pm

+ Monday 5:00am-9am

+ Friday 5:00am-8:00am

Physical requirements

+ Ability to lift or carry 100 pounds

+ Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time

+ Ability to push/pull

+ May be exposed to high places

+ May be exposed to high volume noise

+ May be exposed to electrical equipment

+ May be exposed to moving objects
