**Leflore County Landfill** is looking for a **Heavy Equipment Mechanic** to join the team in Sidon, MS. Our Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various types of equipment used in landfill operations such as: bulldozers, compactors, excavators, and loaders. You will play a crucial part in keeping our facility running efficiently and safely.

**Schedule:** Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm.

**Pay:** $25.00/hr + depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

+ Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel system issues on heavy equipment.

+ Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.

+ Weld, fabricate, and modify parts as needed.

+ Completing required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software programs.

+ Collaborate with operators and management to ensure equipment is operating efficiently.

Qualifications:

+ **Skills** : knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and diesel engines.

+ **Licenses** : valid driver’s license to assist with road calls for emergency repairs.

+ **Physical Requirements** : Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and work outside.
