Description
The health services that became theAnthony L Jordan Health Corporation (http://www.jordanhealth.org/) (Jordan Health) began more than 100 years ago, in 1904. As one of the first 5 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) established in the nation, its roots are steeped in service to those who face barriers to health and health care, meeting their need for comprehensive medical, dentistry, behavioral health, and community services. Starting in northeast Rochester, NY, Jordan Health has since expanded to become a network of primary care offices and health centers serving residents living in three quadrants ofRochester, NY (http://www.city-data.com/city/Rochester-New-York.html) and in Canandaigua, N.Y.
Jordan Health is now seeking aFinancial Counselorwho, under the guidance of the Director of Finance, is primarily responsible for screening uninsured patients and if applicable enrolls patient in the Sliding Scale Fee Discount Program.

Requirements
TheFinancial Counselorwill ensure to:
• Enroll uninsured patients in the Sliding Scale Discount Program.
• Counsels patient.
• Arranges appropriate collection of accounts.
• Assist patients with acquiring insurance coverage by utilizing Facilitated Enrollers.
• Jordan Health is in full compliance with all requirements related to provision of care, including billing and reimbursements.
• To be viewed as a strong Jordan Health team player.
Education And Experience Required:
• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year experience in a health care setting.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Certified Billing Specialist Certification preferred.
Licenses And Certifications Required:
• CAC Training required within first year of employment.
• Ongoing participation in Department of Health assistor webinars to keep the CAC certification current is required.
Special Skills, Knowledge Required:
Must be proficient in:
• MS Office Applications (Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
• eClinicalWorks or other electronic health record preferred.
• Must be able to relate to patients and co-workers in a warm and friendly manner.
