About the Opportunity
This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [FEU]
There are multiple positions available, reporting to multiple Managers and can be located in various FE locations, pending the selected candidate and Manager approval.
This Supervisor position is responsible for the administration and oversight of the Project Managers in the FE Transmission Project Management department, and reports to the Manager, Transmission Project Management.
Responsibilities** **include:
+ Ensuringthereisacompleteteam andindividualcommitmenttosafetyinallareasofwork.
+ Ensuringthereisacompleteteamandindividualcommitmenttoenvironmentalcompliance.
+ Supervising astaffofProjectManagers (bothinternalandexternal), whileproviding leadership anddirection thatresultsinsuccessful projects which meet, enhance and contribute to the overall goals of FET and FE.
+ Directingdailyactivitiesofprojectmanagersandtechnicalpersonnel.
+ Directinganddevelopingstaff,andparticipatinginthedevelopmentoftheoveralldirectionandgoalsofthedepartment.
+ Overseeing apositivework atmosphere thatpromotesindividual development andoperates withintheFirstEnergy RulesofEngagement andCodeof Ethics.
+ Monitoringemployeesatisfactionandmanagingperformanceanddevelopment.
+ Ensuring adherence toallapplicable policiesandpractices, including butnotlimitedtotheManual ofOperations, FEConstruction Standards andthe Accident Prevention Handbook.
+ Communicatingdepartmentandprojectgoals,prioritiesanddecisionstoRegionalandCorporateLeadership.
+ Conductingperiodicprojectstatusmeetings withcorporateandregionalpersonnel.
+ Ensuringthatprojectchallengemeetings,peerreviewsandvariance analysismeetingsareperformed.
+ WorkingwithPortfolioManagementtodevelop andupdatethe5year workplan.
+ Workingclosely withSupplyChaintoensureexternalresourcesareavailableasneededthroughouttheyear.
+ WorkingwithConstructionManagementtoensureprojectshaveconstructionoversightresourcesasneeded.
+ Working withcontrolsandfinancialoversightgroupstominimizefinancialrisksassociatedwithprojects.
+ Developingandmaintainingreasonableprojectschedules.
+ Reviewing,documentingandsavingchangerequestsasneeded.
+ Managing theescalationofissuesandrisksassociatedwithprojects.
+ Helpingtodeterminenew,creativewaystoemployteamsonprojectsanddistributeresponsibilities.
+ Continuallyseekandcapitalize uponopportunitiestoincreasecustomersatisfactionanddeepenclientrelationships.
+ IdentifyingandnotifyingtheTransmission Leadership Team ofadditionalresources orrequirements necessary tomeetthescopeorschedule ofa project.
+ ParticipateintheFirstEnergystormprocessasneeded.
Qualifications** **include:
+ BachelorofScience degreeinBusiness, Engineering, Finance, Construction Management orrelated field.Consideration willbegiventoapplicants having extensive multi-disciplinedand technical and operational background in lieu of a college degree.
+ Musthaveminimumof5years' experience inprojectorganization withbackground inengineering, finance, projectmanagement, construction, or project controls.
+ Knowledgeofprojectmanagementconceptsandprocesses.
+ ExperiencewithaprojectmanagementtoolsuchasPrimaveraorMSProject isaplus.
+ DetailedProjectControlsexperienceisadefinite plus.
+ Excellent interpersonalskills,strongwrittenandverbalcommunication skillsandstronganalyticalabilityarerequired.
+ Successfulcandidatemustbeateamplayerandpossessawillingnesstoworkinateamenvironment.
+ Ability tobeahighlymotivated, enthusiastic leader whofunctions wellindependentlyandiscapableofcommunicating,motivating, anddriving positive workforce change and process improvement.
+ Ability tobeanactivethinkerandteamplayerwhopositivelychallengesthosearoundhim/herandismentallyflexibleandcooperative.
