The Department of Applied Human Sciences within the College of Health & Human Services is pleased to announce we are seeking candidates for a nine-month, tenure-eligible appointment at the rank of Pedagogical Assistant Professor in the Hospitality Management and Dietetics program. The start date for the position is January 2026.
The Department of Applied Human Sciences offers undergraduate concentrations in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management; Nutrition and Dietetics; Food, Nutrition, and Wellness; Family and Consumer Sciences Education; Child Studies, Family Studies; Interior Design; and Fashion Merchandising. The Hospitality Management and Dietetics program also offers a thirteen-month Dietetic Internship as a graduate certificate. Seventeen full-time faculty members serve approximately 800 undergraduate students in the department.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses across the Hospitality Management and Dietetics curriculum. Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to, human nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, nutrition research, and food systems management including food preparation and labs. Additional duties include but are not limited to: directing the dietetic internship program, development and delivery of online courses; curriculum development; collaboration with student organizations and relevant industry groups; promotion of the program; student advisement, community service; recruitment events, research; and participation on departmental, college and university committees.
Job Requirements:
+ Doctorate in a relevant field of study from an accredited institution
+ Current Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
