Job Responsibilities:
The Research Associate will provide key personnel level of work on the grant-supported research projects in the Center for Public Safety Initiatives. This includes conducting research in an applied criminal justice collaborative environment and creating deliverables such as working papers for a broad
audience. The Research Associate will collect data through various techniques and procedures, using both quantitative and qualitative analysis. The Research Associate will also attend trainings and meetings and be expected to participate and report back on the meetings for the grant research. This
includes scheduling, organizing, and reporting on the status of the research activity. Work to be conducted on and off-campus, at community meetings or local organizations. It is possible to work remotely, dependent on the research project.

Required Qualifications:
+ 1 year of experience to perform the essential responsibilities of the job.
+ Bachelor's degree - Criminal Justice/Criminology/Sociology/Social Science discipline.
+ Strong oral/written communication skills to discuss and document research progress.
+ Discipline, self motivation, and an ability to work independently and to problem solve issues that arise during the course of the research.
+ Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Basic SPSS, R, and/or Excel experience.
+ Knowledge of the criminal justice field.
+ Volunteer or class experience in criminal justice/CPSI
