    The Senior Director of Creative Services reports to the Associate Athletic Director/Chief of Staff and will oversee the development of creative initiatives for the University of Washington football program.

     

    The Senior Director of Creative Services will serve as the lead for all cinematic video productions and features that are produced for the University of Washington football program, student-athletes, coaches, and staff. Implement new technology, techniques, and ideas to be at the forefront of bringing new and competitive ideas that will enhance the program’s position in the market. Direct the development and publication of motivational, promotional, and instructional videos for internal use at team meetings, banquets and ceremonies. Direct, develop, and complete screen writing, cinematic storytelling, and documentaries for external publication through social media platforms that are intended to engage fans and potential student-athletes. Enhance cinematic production using Adobe Premier Creative Suite, Cinema Pro Camera equipment, sound, and lighting equipment.

     

    Hire, train, supervise and lead the full-time creative team including the Director of Social Media, Director of Graphic Design, Assistant Director of Graphic Design, and Director of Video Production, as well as hourly support staff. Through various content, mediums and platforms, the Senior Director of Creative Services will lead the brand efforts of the football program and will work closely with the Chief of Staff, Director of Player Personnel, and Head Coach to implement strategies that represent and promote the culture of the program. Lead the creative team to execute productions for recruiting visits through photo, video, and graphics. This position is crucial to the overall recruitment of student athletes.

     

    Responsible for directing a strategic plan for content creation, conducting regular staff meetings, setting priorities, agendas, and deadlines for the creative team. The scheduling and timing of long-term creative projects will align with the recruiting calendar. The position will oversee and create a strategic vision of social media and marketing within the recruiting aspect of the program and work with NIL personnel to grow student athlete brands. Direct and oversee the growth of the social media presence for the Head Coach and assistant coaches. Work alongside the Chief of Staff for renovations in facility designs. Serve as the marketing point-of-contact between the football program and other athletics marketing personnel. This position is responsible for establishing a football Creative Services budget and forecasting all equipment needs for approval by the Chief of Staff.

     

    Attend all practices, games (home, away and post-season) and work directly with the coaching and recruiting staffs. Work directly with ICA staff and the Conference to secure rights to video footage via the Conference Network and other media outlets. Manage recordings for all opponents and “self-scout” TV broadcasts. Maintain an ICA video inventory.

     

    Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Head Football Coach and/or the Director of Athletics.

     

    Compliance with the rules and regulations of the University, the NCAA, the Conference, the State of Washington, and any other governing body is of paramount importance to the University. The overall responsibility of this position is for the successful operation of the program in full compliance with all such rules and regulations. As a condition of employment, the Employee shall be required to participate in rules education programs offered by The Department Of Intercollegiate Athletics.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor's degree in Art, Graphics, Visual Design, or a related field. Three years of related experience with demonstrated expertise in operations, computerized video editing, and networking/IT systems. Professional or collegiate sports video programming is highly desirable.

    Additional Requirements:

    • A high level of technological knowledge, an understanding of information technology, networking, video editing, cinematic production, and programming.

    • Knowledge of applicable policies as they relate to football media exchange or commercial media entities.

     

    _Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum requirements._ **DESIRED REQUIREMENTS**

    • Knowledge of football industry specific analytical systems and football positions, plays, and competition.
