This position is responsible for material operations functions and provides additional support and management of central service functions to ensure that the required quality and quantity of equipment, carts and trays is available for patient needs.This position is not responsible for providing care to patients.

Responsibilities
+ Orders, receives, inspects, stores, issues and ships equipment, materials and supplies for various departments.
+ Monitors readiness for patient use of back up equipment located in storeroom.
+ Monitors location and readiness of crash carts for patient use.
+ Coordinates purchase of consumables for crash carts, kits, intubation and other specialty carts.
+ Cleans and replenishes crash carts, intubation and specialty carts/kits.
+ Provides support and training on equipment cleaning to material operations staff.
+ Provides support and training on crash cart, intubation and specialty cart replenishment.
+ Maintains Conexus database of equipment, users and handheld devices.
+ Provides training on Conexus database and equipment scanning.
+ Develops reports tracking volume and turnover of cleaned equipment.
+ Supports equipment recall, repair and preventative maintenance needs (coordinated with Biomed).
+ Obtains RGA and prepares devices for shipping to vendors for repair (coordinated with Biomed).
+ Conducts cleanliness and bacterial load testing by individual to support infection control measures.
+ Conducts annual inventory of equipment and assets.
+ Makes recommendations for equipment purchases to support patient care.
+ Conducts annual staff training and updates training guides as necessary.
+ Coordinates equipment returns to/from the organization.
+ Supports Biomed initiatives to tag equipment for repair appropriately.
+ Supports patient care areas with feedback/training/presentations of equipment issues.
+ May clean and sanitize patient use equipment using industry standard cleaning products and techniques.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
+ Demonstrated potential ability to perform the essential functions as outlined above.
+ Demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills.
+ Experience with database management, Excel, Word and Powerpoint
+ Ability to work some afternoon or evening hours to conduct training/projects, as needed.

+ Two (2) years of experience in materials management and central service functions.

+ This position involves intermediate working conditions in a healthcare setting that may exert up to 50 pounds any may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects. The incumbent may face exposure to potentially dangerous contaminated body fluids, used needles, razor blades, knives, bone shavings, pieces of glass, and other contaminants as part of the daily hazards of the job and must wear protective attire at all times.
