Summary
The Automation Technician is responsible for designing tools, fixtures and special machines by working in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineer, Engineering department, Production and Quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Troubleshoot and write low-voltage and high voltage systems, including electrical panel controls.
+ PLC programming for Control Logix platform using Factory Talk software.
+ HMI programming including installation, wiring, and setup.
+ Set up, troubleshoot and maintain automation and robotic equipment.
+ Ability to fabricate components as required.
+ Develop (yours and others) innovative ideas into processes.
+ Demonstrate initiative to improve productivity, profitability, efficiency, and safety in processes.
+ Attend and actively participate in corrective actions to determine root cause.
+ Support Engineering efforts through design and application theories.
+ Design tools, fixtures and special machines.
+ Work collaboratively with all department managers to establish design needs.
+ Assist in training and supervising special machine operators.
+ Oversee set-up of special machines and custom automation machinery.
+ Inform Manufacturing Engineer of machine or production problems.
+ Attend training activities, as required.
+ Participate in continual improvement teams, as required.
+ Participate in safety and OSHA training.
Qualifications, Education, Experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience with manufacturing and robotics.
+ 15 years of experience working with tool room equipment.
