**PeaceHealth Peace Island Medical Center** is seeking an **Ultrasound Sonographer** for a **Per Diem/Relief, Variable** position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is **$52.31 – $73.84.** The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

What You’ll Do
+ Performs most appropriate examination based on patient information through consultation with interpreting physician and/or ordering physician as necessary.
+ Records test results, prepares accurate preliminary reports with information appropriate to their scope of practice and updates patient records for interpreting physician.
+ Organizes daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties as required. May schedule and coordinate tests and prepare and maintain operational logs.
+ Maintains and calibrates equipment and order necessary supplies.
+ Prepares, supplies and equips exam rooms to meet the needs of requested examinations and to meet specific physician requirements for procedures.
+ Uses independent judgment during exam to differentiate, within the scope of their licensure, between normal and pathological findings.
+ Integrates previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history and medical records to optimize exam.
+ Tailors exam to individual patient and utilizes the most appropriate equipment settings to provide most diagnostic information for interpretation.
+ Performs other duties as assigned consistent with caregiver’s scope of practice, training, experience and licensure/registration/certification.
+ May be required to perform patient transport functions.
+ May be required to perform phlebotomy procedures.
+ Will perform environmental services, security assistance and emergency response duties as needed.
+ Successfully completes the non-violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) course during orientation and renews training as outlined in policy.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
+ Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Sonography program and/or experience as required for obtaining certification/license/registration as required by the national registry through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasound Technology preferred.
+ Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
+ PACS/RIS knowledge required
+ 1+ year of diagnostic ultrasound experience in a hospital setting preferred
+ Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first mindset
