The Diagnostic Service Planning (DSP) team creates and distributes diagnostic software applications used by technicians around the world to diagnose customers vehicles. This diagnostic software leverages some of the latest platforms and software technology to provide superior products and support. As a member of the Diagnostic Products Quality team you will have an ability to provide solutions which directly enable technicians and help to repair customer vehicles within the day in some cases. An OTA Diagnostic Engineer is primarily responsible for working with various technical teams to help identify issues; then work together to create then implement solutions to enable the dealership service tool. This position has global responsibility to enable resolutions for customers throughout the globe.
What you’ll be able to do…
+ Oversee the timely resolution to diagnostic software issues preventing technicians from fixing customer vehicles. Often being able to identify stakeholder or root cause of the issue.
+ Provide escalation support to the Technical Assistance Centers (TAC) & Field Service Engineers (FSEs) for software failure and/or data issues impacting customer vehicle performance.
+ Oversight and sometimes lead development of detailed resolution plans for specific items.
+ Ability to understand web service API details to enable team triage and help identify failure points between various systems
+ Utilize XML tools to develop/debug service procedures and analyze/debug back-end data quality.
+ Create interim containment actions to address customers vehicle while permanent corrective actions are created then implemented.
+ Work closely with Product Development engineers and teams to ensure issues impacting service technicians are understood and properly prioritized and actioned.
+ Assure correct data support of software applications
+ Interface with Software/Hardware Designer/Supplier to ensure design intent is met.
+ Validation performed using both simulation tools and on vehicle validation.
+ Liaise with Product Development Data stakeholders to ensure back-end data accuracy.
+ Use Rally to document Features and User Stories to add new content to FDRS.
You'll have...
+ Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Automotive and/or Communication Networking degree.
+ 3+ years of experience with module programming or module flashing as well as testing modules.
+ 3+ years of experience working with APIs.
+ 2+ of Program Management experience with ability to enable stakeholders to deliver according to plan timing.

+ Familiarity with the Ford Over the Air (OTA) ecosystem.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Working experience or knowledge of Jira or similar project management system.

This position is a salary grade 8.
