In this position...
This position provides an exciting opportunity to lead Supplier Quality improvement across multiple vehicle plants in North America. You will engage with Ford plant and supplier leadership to drive R/1000, QR and delivery improvement with some of Ford's highest leverage suppliers. Weekly travel to Ford and supplier plants should be expected.
What you'll do...
+ Manage STA group consisting of Resident Managers & Resident Engineers.
+ Communicate to management to assure adequate resources are in place. Prioritize and allocate resources to achieve Resident objectives.
+ Manage Purchasing and STA global BPR/QOS reporting for Warranty and Things Gone Wrong (TGW) metrics
+ Support the facilitation of help needed with PVT (Product Vehicle Team) and/or Manufacturing for issue resolution where suppliers need help from Ford.
+ Ensure direct interface with supplier manufacturing sites for containment and closure of zero MIS special cause supplier process (SP) current model quality BSAQ (Balanced Single Agenda for Quality) projects.
+ Support Global Quality status reporting by driving timely closure and accuracy of zero MIS Top Warranty issues.
+ Ensure participation as needed in VRT (Variability Reduction Team) and forums and Vehicle Quality Reviews (VQR’s).
+ Support STA Residents in directing Resident Supplier Representatives.
+ Ensure STA Resident responsible actions in the Top Supplier Incoming Quality process are executed.
+ Ensure timely containment of stop shipments and accurate binning of root cause owner in BSAQ.
+ Support the identification of common cause warranty issues requiring either Site STA, Central Quality, or Black Belt support.
+ Ensure communication of Best Practice/Lessons Learned to STA activities
+ Drive adherence to all organizational and corporate policy and procedures
+ Prioritize STA Resident Engineer and Manager training and provide performance feedback through the Performance Review process
+ Lead employee development consistent with Human Resources policy and procedures
You'll have...
+ Bachelor of Science / Engineering or Equivalent in a relevant field
+ Be proficient in English when working with global teams
+ Knowledge of Problem Solving Tools.
+ Experience in the use of Quality Tools and Project Management
+ Strong communication, inter-personal and team building skills
+ Ability to travel in the US, Canada, and Mexico approximately 75% of the time
