In this position...
Candidate will conduct durability CAE and analysis of gears
Durability CAE
+ Conduct durability CAE analysis to support BEV, hybrid, transmission, and driveline activities
+ Use analytical tools and techniques to drive new designs, resolve issues relating to manufacturing and quality, and support TVM activities
Gear CAE
+ Analyze gear train systems, evaluating components for durability, NVH, and efficiency
+ Develop analytical methods for gears, bearings, bushings, NVH, and efficiency
General
+ Interpret results and draw reasonable conclusions
+ Communicate effectively with engineers, designers, technicians, suppliers, and management
+ Plan hardware testing to correlate models
+ Work with engineering community, test labs, metallurgy, metrology, and six-sigma teams to analyze data and establish trends
+ Research software and methods to determine best practices for analysis
+ Document methods clearly
+ Instruct others in best analytical practices
Primary skills required
Durability CAE
+ Proficiency with analytical methods in durability CAE
+ In-depth knowledge in fatigue theory
+ Familiarity with Hypermesh, SimLab, Abaqus, FEMFAT
Gear CAE
+ In-depth knowledge of gears, bearings, and bushings
+ Experience modeling large gear systems, and evaluating durability of components, NVH, and efficiency
+ Proficiency with Romax
General
+ Knowledge of powertrain (conventional, hybrid, BEV)
+ Six-sigma skills beneficial
+ CAD skills beneficial
Experience required
+ Minimum ten years experience in durability CAE
+ Minimum five years experience in gear CAE
Education Required
+ MS in mechanical engineering
