The Plain Communities Outpatient Clinic (formerly Green Pasture Outpatient) is a service of Philhaven to the Plain Community. First opened in August of 2005, the clinic provides multiple levels of service to individuals living at the Green Pasture residence and in the community.

The clinic provides high quality mental health care that is sensitive to the values of the Plain Community. The clinic offers both talk therapy (https://www.wellspanphilhaven.org/Programs-and-Services/For-the-Plain-Communities/Talk-Therapy) , education and medication therapy (https://www.wellspanphilhaven.org/Programs-and-Services/For-the-Plain-Communities/Daily-Medication-Management) treatments according to the needs of the family and individual. Active communication and coordination between the psychiatrist, therapists and Green Pasture residence staff ensures that treatment is responsive to the needs of the individual.

Goals

Our primary goal at the Plain Communities Outpatient Clinic is to return individuals to their community with the ability to think clearly, love others and take part in meaningful work by providing mental health care to residents of Green Pasture and individuals who do not need the structure of the residence.

General Summary

Provides individual, group and/or family therapy. Provides preadmission screening to determine appropriateness for admission. Interviews patients and/or families to obtain psycho-social histories. Collaborates with the treatment team to develop a treatment plan and coordinates discharge planning.

+ Interviews patients and family members to obtain information about home environment, family relationships, health history, and patient's personality traits.

+ Conducts individual or group therapy sessions. Assesses patients' progress and modifies or extends treatment program accordingly.

+ Provides therapeutic intervention with patient and family including individual, marital, parental, family and group therapies.

+ Documents current, accurate observations of care to the patient in appropriate records.

+ Coordinates care of assigned patients.

+ Assists in the implementation of education and training experience for interns and other designated students.

Minimum Education:

+ Masters Degree Required in Psychology, Counseling or Human Services related field

Work Experience:

+ 2 -3 years relevant experience required

WellSpan Philhaven

Situated on more than 200 acres, WellSpan Philhaven's main campus in Mt. Gretna, PA, is a tranquil place with walking trails nestled within a picturesque forest and adjacent to an operating farm. The campus provides an atmosphere of peace and serenity for our clients. Our most comprehensive continuum of care, which includes more than 20 programs and services is located at this main campus.

At WellSpan Philhaven, we help address mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, attention deficit disorder, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder and more.
