    Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

     

    CNBC is seeking a freelance technical associate to fill in as needed at two of their remote studio locations in New York City.

    What You’ll Do:

    Primary Roles:

    • Stage Manager: Have direct interaction and management of high-profile talent and guests.

    • A2: Manage audio equipment including multiple microphones and IFB’s, preparing talent and guests with proper audio equipment as needed.

    • Studio maintenance and operation including set effects, cable management, and set aesthetics.

    • Assisting Operation Supervisor with other responsibilities as needed.

    Secondary Roles: (On-site training)

    • Robotic cameras: Responsible for operating/shading up to 10 cameras in multiple locations, along with routing multiple sources.

    • Handheld camera: Wireless operation and familiarity with the Panasonic P2 camera.

    • Jib: Operate the jib camera to create compelling pre-production shots of set-monitors.

    • Telemetrics: Operating our ceiling-track-camera system. Conducting the motion of two live cameras to capture monitor graphics, set-bumps, desk wide shots and guest iso-shots. Requires navigating our field of pre-saved shots, recreating or editing saved shots.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in television production or equivalent experience.

    • Must be able to prioritize and service multiple requests, demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills, remain calm under pressure, and show a willingness to learn and embrace new technologies.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Experience working in a live television news or sports environment.

    • 1+ years of production experience.

     

    Additional Information

     

    This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

     

    Salary range: $25 - $35 per hour
