*THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY OF $109,523.00*
The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community.
The Division of Family Permanency Services (FPS) ensures that high quality services are provided to children in foster care by supporting provider agency staff with technical assistance and other services for children in foster care. FPS staff offer guidance to provider agencies on child welfare policies and procedures to improve service delivery and achieve safety, permanency, and well-being for children in foster care.
The Office of Youth Success Services (OYSS) within the Division of Family Permanency Services works cross-divisionally with ACS' juvenile justice, prevention, and child protection teams to achieve positive safety, well-being and permanency outcomes for children and families in the child welfare system through the provision of education, workforce readiness, job placement and housing supports. Based on the success of the College Choice program, ACS is launching the Career Choice program. Career Choice will support youth in foster care enrolled in a vocation, trade, or workforce development program by providing tuition and housing assistance, and a daily stipend.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Construct a capacity building plan for the Career Choice program prioritizing enrollment.
- Create a monitoring system that includes program evaluation tools and performance improvement strategy.
- Develop a budget monitoring tool and process.
- Ensure that all youth engagement is operationalized according to agency policy.
- Manage and prioritize all complex cases and escalate issues accordingly.
- Achieve program goals, develop corrective action plans, escalate low performance concerns.
- Coordinate monthly staff meetings or reports to debrief leadership.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of Career Choice program.
- Respond to internal and external community-wide inquiries.
- Plan and facilitate provider meetings and other events (training, job fairs, etc.).
- Facilitate presentations and training for provider agency staff and community partners.
- Other administrative tasks as assigned.
Additional Information
Section 424-A of the New York Social Services Law requires an authorized agency to inquire whether a candidate for employment with child-caring responsibilities has been the subject of a child abuse and maltreatment report.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and four years of progressively responsible experience, including one year at the administrative or managerial level in a large governmental agency, business firm, civic or community organization operating in the area of social services; or
2. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and the one year of experience at the administrative or management level as described in "1" above.
