    Job Description

    The P/T Trainer is responsible for the implementation and facilitation of training programs identified by/for Support Professionals on behalf of the agency. The Training program’s mission is to assist in the development of agency’s support professional skills and knowledge. These tools are to assist employees in their work and assist in career development within the agency. Reporting directly to the Agency Career Counselor, the Trainer responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Conduct informative training sessions to promote efficiency and improve the skills level of agency support professionals. Conduct new hire orientation training. Conduct an ongoing assessment of the training needs of agency support professionals. Conceptualize training materials based on data and research. Oversee and direct seminars, workshops, individual training sessions, and lectures. Plan and implement an effective training curriculum. Create and develop training plans and training coursework which include training materials, tutorials, instructions, and learning resources. Maintain a database of all training materials. Test and review created materials. Disseminate training needs and online resources for employees. Work with agency leadership to obtain feedback and recommendations of training needs for support professionals. Conduct employee surveys and interviews and utilize feedback from surveys for further training. Assist in developing a training monitoring system to assess the employees performance as a result of training. Track and compile collected data. Coordinate and monitor enrollment, schedules, costs, and equipment. Contact and utilize outside vendors and resources for instructional technology. Train and guide new employees. Review employee performance from training. Assist in sending agency internal vacancies for career advancement. Attend related trainings.

    Qualifications

    A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school; or

    A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of satisfactory full- time professional experience working in one or a combination of the following areas: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area.

     

    An associate degree or completion of 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above.

     

    A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and six years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "2" above.

    A combination of education and/or experience equivalent to “1”, “2”, “3”, or “4” above. College education may be substituted for professional experience at the rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have a high school diploma.
