Here at Fairview, we are hiring an Ultrasound Technologist to join our Radiology department at Masonic Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN! This is a .75 FTE (60 hours per 2 weeks) position. Typical hours would be working 5, 12 hour shifts from 11:00AM - 11:00PM. Here is the schedule:
Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - 11:00am to 11:00pm
Week 2: Monday and Tuesday - 11:00am to 11:00pm
+ If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 3pm – 11pm, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $6.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials.

Responsibilities
+ Maintaining patient care for adult and pediatric patients
+ Performs examinations
+ Identifies relevant data from images accurately
+ Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional
+ Participates in crafting a culture of patient safety
+ Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness
+ Verify patient identification and documentation
+ Connect with and educate patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
+ Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
+ Ensuring patient data integrity
+ Accurately completes computer functions; edits, scheduling, billing, status changes and image transfers in a timely manner
+ Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving
+ Participating as an active team member
+ Orients and mentors new employees and students
+ Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives
+ Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position
+ Cleans and maintains rooms and supplies
+ Provides integrated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality care

+ Performs other duties as assigned
+ Correctly operating equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines
+ Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly
+ Maintains a high level of competency
+ Accepts new technology as it’s introduced into the facility
+ Participates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations
+ Demonstrating the ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
+ Performs a wide variety of thorough, diagnostic ultrasound exams.
+ Educates patients prior to and throughout their ultrasound exam. Ensures all patient questions are answered and focuses on minimizing patient anxiety.
+ Prepares for exams prior to patient's arrival. This includes reading the provider s order, reviewing pertinent medical history, consulting with clinician or radiologist, preparing paperwork and gathering supplies.
+ Facilitates the performance of interventional procedures such as reading the provider s order, gathering medical history, coordinating care with other departments, setting up correct equipment and supplies, using proper sterile technique and communicating appropriately with performing physician.
+ Makes quick and patient focused decisions in times of high patient volume and rapid change.
+ Keeps patient environment and workspace clean and organized, which includes stocking linen and supplies in an organized and timely manner.
+ Completes requisitions and charges for supplies in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring our patients receive prompt diagnosis and care.
+ Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
+ Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
+ Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned.
Required Qualifications
+ Education at a level to be ARDMS registry eligible, including successful completion of sonography clinical requirements
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) – Must be current and from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
+ ARDMS registered in one specialty or ARRT RT (S) registered within 90 days of employment
Preferred Qualifications
+ 1 year of hospital-based experience
+ Proficiency in pediatrics, general, interventional, OB and vascular ultrasound
