As a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, you will be responsible for:
Clinical Practice:
+ Deliver safe and systemic care for a specified patient population under MD supervision.
+ Exercise independent judgment in assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of medical processes within NP or PA scope of practice.
+ Demonstrate specialized knowledge in urgent care, pharmacology, and education.
Teamwork:
+ Communicate efficiently and collaborate with diverse clinical teams.
+ Cultivate a coordinated approach to achieve efficient patient outcomes.
+ Show respect and understanding for fellow team members.

+ Apply standards, guidelines, and protocols for care delivery.

Job Overview:
+ Clinical Practice: Provides safe care in a systemic way to include the assessment and overall care management of a specified patient population under the supervision of an Emergency Physician. Exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of medical processes and procedures in line with scope of practice as NP or PA. Has specialized knowledge and skill on matters of emergency care, pharmacology and education.
+ Teamwork: Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others. Has respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines. Uses an integrated approach to patient outcomes.
+ Quality/Best Practice: Utilizes standards, guidelines, and protocols for care delivery. Incorporates data and information to continuously improve care and practice to enhance outcomes.
+ Professional Development: Ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development in life-long learning. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice, serves as a resource, and mentor. Leadership skills demonstrated in decision making and problem solving.
+ Primary Responsibility to assess and Manage Emergency Severity Index level 3 patients in the emergency department that do not require monitoring as well as managing level 4 and 5 patients in the emergency department and the urgent care department as needed.
+ 1.0 FTE which is 12 shifts per month. The shift time is 9:00am – 9:00pm.
+ EPIC EMR.
+ Physician and APP emergency medicine support as well as APP urgent care support.
Required Qualifications
+ Progressive clinical experience.
+ Master’s degree in advanced practice nursing or Physician Assistant studies.
+ Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master's or Doctorate Degree as an Advanced Practice or Graduate of an accredited school of Physician Assistant studies with a Master's or Doctorate Degree.
+ Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner license from MN Board of Nursing. Physician Assistant studies certification.
+ Clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in a Primary Care or Urgent Care setting preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Doctorate degree in advanced practice nursing or Physician Assistant studies.
