What You'll Do
We’re looking for an Associate Fixed Income Analyst or Fixed Income Analyst to join our Structured Product Fixed Income team. In this role, you’ll conduct fundamental research, surveillance, and analysis on the CMBS (Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities) team!
+ Conduct loan level research and model loan specific risk including financial analysis and projections, monitor and research economic and industry trends that may impact overall loan performance and effectively communicate bond recommendations
+ Collect, distribute, and analyze market information using a variety of tools and databases such as Trepp and Excel to identify critical data for decision-making
+ Perform statistical analysis, analyze collateral quality metrics and cash flow distributions to formulate recommendations
+ Become familiar with factors that could affect portfolios including, but not limited to changes to financial regulation, NRSRO/NAIC methodology and ratings, capital requirements, political and economic environment and any fundamental and technical changes to the securitized product market
+ Develop and communicate opinions of relative value in the securitized products market sector. Stay abreast of relevant news events. Provide insights to portfolio managers and senior analysts
+ Assist teams in producing weekly, monthly, and quarterly client information. Contribute to preparing presentation materials and delivering on special projects as needed

Who You Are
+ Bachelor's degree in a technical field (ie finance, accounting, economics, statistics, engineering, data science, business analytics). If more qualified, we are willing to hire the next level up which would include a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in fixed income research, trading, strategy, portfolio management, commercial real estate, or related technical field
+ Commercial Real Estate experience through coursework or experience
+ Must be able to understand basic accounting principles and economic theory, interpret financial statements, and efficiently and effectively research, compile and analyze information
+ Advanced Excel skills and additional technology such as PowerBI and Access
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out
+ Previous internship in commercial real estate, fixed income or related technical field
+ Progress towards CFA
+ Knowledge of financial markets and fixed income strategies, including general knowledge of bond mechanics and pricing calculations
+ Collaborative, able to build and maintain strong relationships, manage expectations, attend to details, multi-task and prioritize effectively
+ Excellent abilities in the areas of communication (verbal and written), time management
+ Previous experience with Trepp, Argus, Bloomberg and/or Intex
+ Additional programming languages (ie MATLAB, R, Python, SQL)
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$86450 - $144400 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

This role will be based out of our World Headquarters located in Des Moines, IA.
Work Environments
This role offers the ability for in-office or four days in-office and one day remote. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
Next Level Up
We are willing to hire either an Associate Fixed Income Analyst or the next level up as a Fixed Income Analyst which requires two years of experience. The compensation range shows both positions. Management will decide which level based upon experience.
