    Job Description Summary:

    The position handles various aspects of accounting for the Organization applying the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records. As such, the position has a direct responsibility for maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries and posting to the General Ledger, account reconciliations, and producing various accounting and financial reports. Performs analysis of financial and management reports to identifying trends and variances.

    Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)

    + Monitor and collect data to assess accuracy and integrity; analyze data; ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e. GAAP), rules, regulations and systems of internal control; interpret and evaluate results, prepare documentation; create financial reports and/or presentations

    + Prepare and process standard and assigned journal entries within deadlines

    + Performs period-end financial close responsibilities.Prepares data for financial statements, data for quarterly and annual regulatory filings using applicable systems.Duties may include preparing journal entries and coding invoices/vouchers

    + Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts to subsidiary records on a monthly basis. Follow-up on any unusual items and prepares related journal entries

    + Assist in researching for internal and external audit requests

    + Perform other duties as necessary

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? (i.e. hiring, recommending/approving promotions and pay increases, scheduling, performance reviews, discipline, etc.) No

    Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements

    + Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business administration or related field and a minimum of two years’ experience in accrual-based accounting.

    Basic Qualifications

    + Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

    + Experience with analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions

    + Be able to demonstrate attention to details and good-record-keeping

    + Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

    + Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management

    + Solid written and verbal communication skills, ability to pay attention to detail and maintain confidentiality, strong interpersonal skills and commitment to working with a diverse staff are essential to successfully carry out the duties of this position

    + Intermediate level skill in in Microsoft Office 2007 or later: Email, Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, inserting charts,). PowerPoint (for example: inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions). Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns)

     

    Travel Requirements: (if required)

     

    Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

    Preferred Qualifications & Interests (PQIs)

    + Master’s degree in Accountancy or MBA

    Due to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below:

    Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

     

    Pay Range is $56,066.25-$93,443.75
