    This position provides technical, hands-on support for Collins Aerospace ground and airborne communications, navigations, sensor, displays, and integrated application test equipment for commercial and government/military related programs or projects. This person would drive improvements based on various analyses; Perform corrective actions for technical issues at Hill Air Force Base, Ogden UT, perform special investigations, and product testing. Other duties might include formal/informal training and/or support and installation of test equipment products within the Collins Aerospace standards and the guidelines of various governmental regulations and requirements.

     

    + **_This is an onsite role located at the Hill Air Force Base near Ogden, Utah._**

    + **_This role is eligible for relocation._**

    + **_Travel for this role averages 10% and may exceed 25%._**

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    This position is primarily in support of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Helmet Mounted Display System (HMDS) test equipment and Customer Return Goods. Duties will include but are not limited to:

     

    + Develops, implements and maintains test procedures and processes in the manufacture and test of sub-assembly, module, and top-level product for HMDS product lines.

    + Maintains test documentation in current configuration and oversees accurate change management procedures for all test documents. Resolves conflicts in documentation and process definition

    + Evaluates Customer Returned Good (CRG) activity to repair and return units in the most efficient manner. Uses analysis of CRG failure data to identify proactive methods of preventing future failures.

    + Provide capacity planning and utilization analysis for accurate staffing and test equipment needs. Identify new test approaches that will reduce staffing and capital requirements.

    + Studies test equipment performance, reliability, and establish programs and solutions for decreasing equipment downtime. Feeds back the analysis to improve design of next generation test equipment.

    + Provides technical interpretation of drawings and specifications for difficult products.

    + Receives little instruction on assigned tasks. Works independently. Follows established processes but understands when occasional deviations are required. Deviations are coordinated with direct supervision.

    + Works with a robust team of technicians, engineers, program management, and business development.

    + Failure to achieve results will have a significant impact on product quality or delivery schedules.

    QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

    + Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience **or** an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience **or** in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

    + Must hold a current and valid driver’s license.

    + Must have background in avionics repair or manufacturing environment.

    + Must have a background in electronic engineering and/or hardware troubleshooting using test benches.

    QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:

    + Experience working with optical bench testing.

    + Experience with software troubleshooting.

    + Field service experience.

    + Prior military experience.

    The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
