    Job Overview

     

    The Territory Manager is responsible for growing sales within their assigned territory by promoting BD products to healthcare facilities through direct selling efforts and education of the healthcare professional community. The Territory Manager must remain current in product knowledge, marketing strategies, pricing, and sales techniques. They will develop relationships with key decision makers who influence purchasing habits.

    Requirements

    + Maintain established accounts by providing superior service, technical assistance, educational programs, product demonstrations, and serving as a liaison between the customer and the Company.

    + Identify new business opportunities by developing relationships with key decision makers, scheduling appointments, making effective presentations, understanding buying protocols, negotiating contracts, and closing sales.

    + Develop and implement marketing plans aligned with the regional strategy to maximize sales while minimizing expenses.

    + Work effectively with Sales Representatives to ensure a coordinated effort in sales generation activities within their respective geographic area.

    + Actively participate in trade shows and conventions to promote BD products and services.

    + Participate in local events where BD can communicate its value proposition to customers and prospects.

    + Serve as a communication link between the Company and customers, ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.

    + Monitor and report on competitive activity and trends; provide feedback to management regarding marketing effectiveness and territory needs.

    + Maintain organized records and accurate reports on areas such as customer information, inventories, product usage, pricing, competition, and market trends.

    + Demonstrate and apply fundamental leadership skills including training, motivation, coaching, and team building.

    Education

    + Bachelor's degree required.

    Experience

    + Minimum three years of successful sales experience, preferably in medical devices or a related industry.

    + Experience working with group practices, ambulatory surgical centers, hospital accounts, and IDNs required.

    Skills

    + Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

    + Demonstrates computer literacy.

    + Ability to plan and prioritize activities based upon financial impact to desired business goals.

    + Knowledgeable of medical terminology.

    + Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel within the organization and with external customers.

    + Self-motivated and able to work independently with little supervision.
