What you'll be doing
As a Senior Analyst, Business Effectiveness, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team focused on identifying and mitigating existing and emerging risks. You will play a key role in enhancing the effectiveness of risk management through risk assessment and control testing activities, and by performing a variety of additional due diligence activities for the US Legal Department.
The ideal candidate will possess a foundation in risk management within the financial services industry, coupled with excellent technical and organizational skills. Your ability to communicate findings clearly and collaborate effectively with stakeholders will be essential in driving improvements in our risk management practices.
Responsibilities include:
+ **Control Testing:** Evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of controls through execution of ongoing testing activities. Effectively communicate findings and insights to various stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding.
+ **Data Governance:** Maintain accurate records of critical data elements, core reports and data sharing activities.
+ **Business Continuity Plans:** Develop, maintain, and test emergency communication plans (call trees), and conduct simulated tabletop exercises
+ **Business Managed Technology:** Assess business-managed applications to determine applicability and reporting under the Business Managed Technology (BMT) program. Maintain tracking and reporting of BMTs in accordance with bank standards.
+ **Risk Assessments:** Conduct due diligence on third party suppliers, complete Information Security Assessments and Risk & Control Self Assessments (RCSAs).
+ **Records Management:** Maintain detailed records and evidence of primary activities for audit purposes.
+ **Reporting:** Prepare comprehensive reporting on control testing, risk assessments, data governance and other topics as needed.
+ **Collaboration:** Collaborate with stakeholders, including US Legal colleagues and US and Enterprise business partners to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as regulatory expectations.
How you'll succeed
+ **Identify control weaknesses** and root causes of deficiencies, conducting research to support findings and collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement corrective actions.
+ **Reporting:** Prepare comprehensive reports on control testing outcomes, highlighting areas of improvement and recommendations.
+ **Foster strong relationships** through effective communication and collaboration.
+ **Continuous Improvement:** Identify opportunities for enhancing processes and contribute to the development of best practices.
+ **Maintain evidence** of activities, attestations, reporting and supporting documentation.
Who you are
+ **You have experience** in control testing or risk management activities within a financial services environment.
+ **You have strong technical skills** within the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel. Power BI knowledge is a plus.
+ **You understand that details matter** and enjoy investigating complex problems to make sense of information. You have excellent organizational skills.

+ **You have a Bachelor’s degree** and/or 3+ years of related experience within the financial services industry
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $70,000.00- $75,000.00 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
