Job Summary: Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Administrator to join their team full-time in Columbia, MO. This individual will provide assistance in the execution of environmental and occupational health and safety programs in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Job Duties:
+ Assist with the proper characterization and classification of wastes to ensure handling and shipment accuracy.
+ Perform emergency response duties pursuant to the Facility Contingency Plan.
+ Conduct periodic lab inspections for general safety purposes.
+ Assist with the presentation of the employee safety and radiation training for staff.
+ Collect environmental samples and maintain sample integrity and chain of custody.
+ Clean and maintain sampling and monitoring equipment.
+ Conduct monthly inspections of fire extinguishers. Order and replace fire extinguishers as needed.
+ Request and distribute personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain accurate and complete records of equipment that has been ordered and distributed. Coordinate and arrange for respiratory fit testing with external vendor.
+ Perform basic radiation safety activities.
+ Maintain current MSDS databases
+ Maintain inventory systems for lab pack and other wastes to be disposed of as needed for facility records and regulatory reporting.
+ Assist in the maintenance of the safety databases to facilitate required local, state, and federal reporting requirements. May assist in the completion of reports.
+ Assist with audits, maintenance, and improvement of established emergency plan(s) and regulatory documents.
+ Performs contamination surveys and bioassays.
+ Assist with coordination of radioactive waste shipments as needed with contractor.
+ Assist with the dosimetry program. Ensures meters are calibrated on a yearly basis and additionally as needed.
+ Monitor, label, and handle hazardous waste in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
+ Inspect satellite accumulation and storage areas for leakage and contamination. Report variance to the environmental health and safety leadership.
+ Assist in ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations such as DOT, EPA, MDNR, OSHA, etc.
+ Assist with employee safety training and record retention.
+ Perform other related duties as required and directed
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree in environmental health or related field.
+ 1-2 years of safety or occupational health experience.
+ Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and use Microsoft Office Suite
+ Problem solving and ability to operate various types of equipment.
+ Fluent in English
+ Authorization to work in the U.S. without restriction or sponsorship
+ Excellent training, communication, and organizational skills
Position is full-time, Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates who live within a commutable distance from Columbia, MO encourage to apply.
