Position Summary:
The Materials Management Technician will work within the materials management group at our client site to support warehouse activities and campaigns in a timely and efficient manner. This position will comply with FDA, EPA, OSHA, IATA, and client regulations and policies. Our employees will interact and effectively communicate with technicians, production campaign managers, and process chemists to ensure planning for the smooth execution of operations. This position will interact and communicate effectively with client colleagues both abroad and domestically to ensure applicable campaign timelines are met.
This is a temporary position for 6 months to 1 year, depending on the completion of assigned projects.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain and oversee all aspects of loading docks including proper and timely documentation. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of all loading docks, storage rooms, sampling rooms, dispensing areas, and all other areas that fall within Materials Managements jurisdiction. Maintains warehouse in GMP state.
+ Receives materials, both physically and electronically. Inspects materials for damage and supply chain compliance.
+ Label all received and stored materials.
+ Distribute pharmaceutical materials to the proper destination. Work with logistics and other departments to ensure correct materials arrive at the desired destination safely, intact, and in a timely and efficient manner.
+ Safely operate MMG-related equipment, such as walk-behind, lift, pallet jacks, drum lifters, etc.
+ Maintain minimum chemical inventory needed for production campaigns.
+ Safely collect, prep, package, subdivide, and stage chemicals appropriately upon request and document accordingly. May require additional PPE for certain chemical handling.
+ Record data from sampling or testing material (Release, ID, Chemical, Analysis, Use Test, Retain, and any other various samples for internal and external customers) upon goods receipt or as necessary in a timely and efficient manner.
+ Maintain the integrity of all of the individual materials and batches both physically and electronically using a variety of inventory control functions.
+ Communicate and respond to special instructions related to shipments (e.g. temperature-tracked shipments, immediate-open packages, special packaging procedures, etc.)
+ HS diploma and valid driver’s license. Preferably, an Associates Degree or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (chemistry preferred)
Preferred Experience:
+ Experience working in a materials management function
+ Understanding of safe handling of hazardous chemicals
+ Experience in warehouse inventory management
+ Excellent computer skills, capability to learn site-specific computerized inventory system
+ Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
+ Full compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
+ Good communication and interpersonal skills
+ Position is Monday- Friday 8:00 AM- 5:00PM. Overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Ridgefield, CT are encouraged to apply.
